SONOMA COUNTY, CA. ( JULY 23, 2012) — Northern California based concert promoters Rick Bartalini Presents announced that Bill Maher, comedian and host of Real Time on HBO, will perform two special pre-election concerts at the new world-class Weill Hall at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park on October 20 and Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium on October 21
Along with the top-rated HBO hit “Real Time” and a new bestselling book of his iconic “New Rules,” Maher has amassed an online following of more than 2.3 million dedicated followers and fans. For the last seventeen years, Bill Maher has set the boundaries of where funny, political talk can go on American television. First on “Politically Incorrect” (Comedy Central, ABC, 1993-2002), and for the last nine years on HBO’s “Real Time,” Maher’s combination of unflinching honesty and big laughs have garnered him twenty-seven Emmy nominations. In October of 2008, this same combination was on display in Maher’s uproarious and unprecedented swipe at organized religion, “Religulous,” directed by Larry Charles (“Borat”).
